the aim of the action was to block the delegates coming from the geneva airport. people were blocking yhe road with banners, but the really effective block should have been the rope across it, on which 2 activists were hanging and wanted to join under the bridge
note that you can see in pic. 6, that the police must have seen martin hanging under the middle of the bridge. he states, that he wave at them and they saw them.
note also the security loop of the rope before it is going down. this saved the life of the second climber, because people on the bridge wereable to grab the rope.
in pic.7 you see, how the cars were allowed to start, although the situation was not clear jet. also, at that point, the rope was still intact |
