Le hanno chiamate UBS Arene, rifacendosi alla tecnica di marketing del naming right, e dovrebbero rappresentare il quinto stadio svizzero di Euro08.
Uno stadio virtuale, anonimo e uguale in tutte e 16 le città in cui verrà installato, dove il campo da calcio non sarà costituito da un manto erboso, ma relegato a degli schermi televisivi che, per quanto giganti essi siano, rimangono comunque limitati.
Delle infrastrutture che cambiano radicalmente il modo di fruire lo sport ed in particolare il ruolo dei sostenitori all'interno dell'evento sportivo. Viene infatti a mancare la componente tifoso - dodicesimo uomo in campo - che sostiene e supporta (dal vivo) la propria squadra durante il match.
Mentre questo aspetto potrebbe in parte essere giustificato dalla ridotta capienza degli stadi, ben più evidente è il fatto che le UBS Arene eliminano il rito dell'assembramento spontaneo. Questi nonstadi infatti colonizzano le piazze imponendo regole, dispositivi di sicurezza, comportamenti da tenere, marchandising da indossare e da esporre cancellando di fatto le piazze dall'immaginario storico di luogo d'incontro e di aggregazione spontaneo.
Infrastrutture come le UBS Arene trasformano quindi spazi pubblici in avamposti ideologici imponendo un modo di fruire lo sport moderno che in modo inesorabile marcia dritto verso il: Komfort, Kommerz, Kontrolle.

Così ci venne consegnato un mondo distinto, interpretato; dove le cose potessero accadere, dare loro esistenza: senso.
Poi è toccato a filosofi, poeti, artisti, religiosi. In ultimo, nei pressi del mondo contemporaneo, ai pubblicitari che mostrano straordinarie abilità nel perseguire cotanto compito.
